For the most part, flowers for the top or inside of the casket itself and large standing floral wreaths or sprays are generally sent only by the immediate family. The type of funeral flowers appropriate for friends or co-workers of the deceased are usually smaller standing sprays or flower baskets that can be displayed at the funeral service or at the home of the family.

When a friend or loved one passes away, many people want to send funeral flowers as a symbol of their love and a show of heartfelt condolences to the family and other mourners at the service. The options for funeral flowers include: arrangements for the casket, standing arrangements such as floral crosses or wreaths, as well as smaller baskets or arrangements. Send Flowers to the Home of the Family

If you are not able to attend the funeral service, you can still send sympathy flowers to the family's home as all funeral flowers do not need to be at the service. I wish I could retract that email.  I am in customer service also.  I heard the care in your voicemail.  I had been on the phone all day with work and didn't  recognize your number.
